Where could I get plastic/glass/acrylic spheres large enough and strong enough to support the weight of water inside them and be durable enough? My goal is to mimic there design but not completely.

However, that tank is a very bad design in terms of keeping fish healthy. There is far too little water surface area. If you do something like this, at least turn several of the spheres into bowls. And, design in a heater and filtration.
