The 2011 CTS sports coupe is a midsize luxury auto with angular bold looks that blends performance with incredible style and audacity. The number one thing that stands out about this car is its angular shape and extremely unique look; this car is the epitome of “American Luxury”. The shape of its back is aggressive and square. Driving this car is a total enjoyment; shifts are quick and the brakes are powerful and precise. The ride leans more towards sporty than cushy and on the same level with that of European luxury vehicles. The CTS will compete in the sports coupe segment, a market which is dominated by European cars such as the BMW 3-series coupe and the new Mercedes E-class coupe.
The CTS is equipped with a V6 3.6 Engine with 304 HP and 273 lb feet of torque. This should be more than ample power for the average individual. If you want even more power, then you might want to hold off until GM releases the CTS V-series which will be equipped with a massive 556 horsepower. Gas mileage for the CTS is at 17 miles per gallon in the city and 26 miles per gallon on the freeway.
The CTS comes in three trims; Base, CTS Performance Collection and CTS Coupe Premium Collection. This coupe comes standard with six speed automatic transmission, sweet looking eighteen inch alloy wheels, heated outside mirrors, cruise control, a premium Bose audio system with a 6-disc cd changer, parking assist and power seats. The CTS Performance collection trim includes an upgraded audio system, Xenon lamps and seats appointed in fine leather. The Premium Collection trim includes a navigation system with turn by turn directions, wooden trim accents inside the cabin, a moon roof and a temperature controlled steering wheel.
The cabin is luxurious and extremely comfortable. There is a navigation screen in place which conveniently slides down and out of sight when not in service. The front seats are quite plush while offering more than plenty of legroom and there are touches of chrome accents for a modernized look. The CTS was designed with safety in mind and there are loads of safety measures in place such as; On Star Crisis Assist, an airbag system, 4-wheel ABS, 4-wheel disc brakes, a car theft deterrent system, daytime running lamps, a traction control system, an electronic stability program and a tire pressure monitoring system.
This is by far one of the most striking cars available on the market today and a definite buy for someone who is looking for an American luxury sports coupe. The most appealing aspect of the CTS is its dramatic good looks and angular lines; this is a car that cannot be missed on the road due to its unique look. There is no other sports coupe on the market that has the same look. The base price is around $38k and can fluctuate depending on the trim model and options selected. This the first time in many years that Cadillac has actually built a sports coupe, but it looks like they hit the spot with the 2011 CTS!
