What is a broiler safe casserole dish?
I have glass Pyrex which says it is not broiler safe. I also have some Corning ware which I think is white ceramic and says it can be used for "Range, Oven, Microwave." Will this work?
You are going to need what they call "earthenware" - heavy, clay oriented casserole dish, or something metal ... but metal ... ugh. Doesn't work really well. You should look to see if the Corningware has a temperature limit on it, that's how you'll know if it's broiler-safe ... you're talking temps of 500 degrees or higher when you say broiler.
