My 11 year Whirlpool dehumidifier runs, but does not dehumidify. It worked up through last year.?
I have a model QF1718498 purchased July, 1996. It runs, but the pan is dry as a bone. It is plenty humid in the basement. Not sure what the problem is. I took the cover off today and tried washing the coils, but no change.
Most of the auto shut off features would shut the whole motor down. It is running, just not pulling any water.
It may be running, but the motor is defective now. I had the same problem and had to buy a new one. It is not running hard enough to pull the moisture from the air, just running enough to make a sound...the sound of you need a new dehumidifier.
