Cabinet Refacing Ideas
I know you are keen on refacing your kitchen but before you start looking for kitchen and cabinets companies take a few minutes to read through this brief but very informative article. I will present some of the most important basics and help you make an informed decision about redoing your kitchen cabinets.
There are some many websites that claim to provide articles that are all about kitchen cabinet refacing but by taking a bit of each will lead you to mess up everything. Below I share some of the most useful ideas on this subject.
Defining Refacing Kitchen Cabinets
This is a way of making old kitchen cabinets to look new by adding a new coating such as laminate, veneer or thermofoil. Most often this involves only changing the door fronts and drawer from but not the whole cabinets. Ideally the process is easier and faster than a complete kitchen remodel.
In fact is can be as far less as 60% when comparing with the cost of buying new cabinets. All in all then, this is an affordable, hassle free and generally efficient way to spruce up the look of your kitchen.
Let us briefly look at some of the different coating that is used
The Use Of Laminate
This coating material is made up of some thin sheet made from resins. This includes those that are made of polypropylene and you can also get some made from plastic film. One thing about it is that it is cheapbut it is most vulnerable to wear and tear. However, it works well in heat oil resistance and can seal heat perfectly.
The Thermofoil Material
This is considered to be a revolutionary new wood-like material for Cabinetry. It has many names e.g. RTF or Vinyl and its thick vinyl film is bonded enduringly to a wood core that is warp-resistant.
Understanding Wood Veneer
As the name states, this is wood. It is a thin slice that comes cut from a log with a sawing machine or a slicing or peeling machine. If you are looking for a nice grain then this is the right material to consider. There are many varieties of this feature. This means you will need to consult with an expert to help you find the best for you kitchen.
How to add air to my 1000 litre compost bin?
I have constructed a compost bin out of heavy black polyethylene sheets. It holds around 1000 litres and is open at the bottom and is sitting on soil under a tree with a lid on it to keep the moisture in. Can I use a sparge to aerate the pile so I dont have to turn it? I have the knowledge, materials, equipment and ability to make an electric stirrer to plunge into this pile and others that could also deliver air down the shaft from my air compressor which produces pure air without the oil which comes from your standard air compressor. I might add that I have plenty of time on my hands and all I seem to do in my spare time is build machines.
If you have ever noticed the compost bins you buy have aerating holes in them already.
You could add worms but it needs air 24/7 for good circulation
As do the homade ones
